POULTRY AND EGGS
The Rod Comb Egg and Poultry Company report large entries at the auction sales on Saturday and Wednesday. Some good lines of goslings and ducklings were offered to a large attendance of buyers, and these found ready sale under the keenest of competition. There is an excellent demand for turkeys and heavy chicken, which are easily disposed of at good prices. Eggs—A feature of the egg market is the sudden drop in supplies, which, lias resulted in the price rising one penny a dozen, with a very good demand. The average price realised for poultry during the week, a pair, were:—Roasting chicken, light up to ss, medium up to 6s Od, heavy up to lis Gd; ducks up to 5s 6d, ducklings, light up to 7s 3d, heavy up to 10s Od; hens, light up to 4s 9d, heavy up to 6s 6d; goslings, up to lis; pullets, three months old, up to 8a 3d; turkeys, Is 2d per lb. Eggs—First grade (2oi and over) Is, second grade (under 2oz) lid a dozen.
