CIVIC THEATRE "IT'S A KING" To-day at the Civic Theatre British Dominions Films will present another of the British comedy successes, "It's a King." English press critics class this picture as the best comedy of the year. In this merry film Sydney Howard, the popular comedian of "Up for the Cup,"' and Joan Maude, daughter of the famous Cyril Maude, assisted by a brilliant English cast, bring to the screen a type of entertainment everyone enjoys. Sydney Howard has been provided with a great opportunity for displaying that guileless innocence and bland drollery which in the past have made him such a distinctive and popular comedian. The picture has an ideal setting. lull of colour and spectacle. The story concerns Albert King, an insurance agent, who, when the picture begins, is about to depart on iiis annual holidays. Mistaken identity places him in the unique position of King of Nelgia, and one can imagine the complications that eventuate when Sydney Howard finds himself being honoured in the royal palace. To complicate matters, ail organisation of "comrades" desires the capture of the king and to set up a republic, thus providing further ingredients for really good, clean comedy. An excellent supporting programme will be shown, including "Ideal News," "Gaumont Minor." "City of St. Albans," "Bells of Aberdovey," "Forestry in Australia." and "An Old Garden," thus completing a most entertaining night's amusement. Box plans arc now open at the theatre, and intending patrons are advised to reserve their seats early to avoid disappointment.
