PIONEER SPORTS CLUB
MOTOR GYMKHANA AT KAIAPOI A meeting of the motor sports committee of the Pioneer Sports Club was held on Thursday evening. There were present: Messrs E. J. Bradshaw (chairman), V. C. Browne, H. S. Butcher, and M. B. Grant. The following programme of motorcycle events, to be held on the Kaiapoi Domain on Saturday afternoon, December 16, in conjunction with the Sporting Carnival, promoted by the Kaiapoi Beautifying Association, was approved of: (1) Football match, (2) clock circuit race, (3) blindfold riding competition, (4) miniature T.T. race, (5) serpentine race, and (6) acceleration race. The following were appointed to control the events: Messrs E. J. Bradshaw, R. H. Parker, M. P. Jones, and H. S. Butcher. An application was received from the New Brighton Beach and Beauty Carnival Committee, for the club's assistance in providing a series of motorcycle sporting competitions on the occasion of the carnival, to be held on the beach between January 13 and 20. It was decided that their wishes be acceded to, and the evening of the opening date of the carnival (January 13) when there would be a favourable beach, was recommended as a suitable date for holding the motor events.
