INQUEST OPENED
DEATH OF WORKER AT WOOLSTON FACTORY An inquest into the circumstances of the death of William Broms, a married man, aged 48, who was killed on Wednesday in an accident at the Davis Gelatine (N.Z.) Works, Woolston, was opened yesterday. After evidence of identification had been given the coroner (Mr H. P. Lawry) adjourned the enquiry sine die. Mr Broms, who resided at 96 Madras street, Sydenham, was engaged with a number of other men in hoisting material for a new heating plant. The hoisting tackle suddenly gave way and struck him on the neck. He died within a quarter of an hour.
