KATIPO SPIDERS
TO THE EDITOR OF TUB PBBSS. Sir,— Referring to your correspondent's letter, towards the end of last season when sun-bathing on the sandBpit at South New Brighton I saw and helped to kill a katipo spider. This is the only one I have seen, because I have not been back since.—Yours, etc ONCE NEARLY BITTEN. November 29, 1933. TO TIIS EDITOB. OS THE PKBSS. Sir,—ln "The Press" this morning I noticed a letter signed "Paterfamilias," which gave a warning against katipo spiders. This was of particular interest to me as I intend to spend my Christmas vacation at South Brighton. Could "Paterfamilias" oblige me with a description of the katipo and Its haunts, whether it frequents the open sandhills or prefers the dry grasses and lupins? Perhaps one of your many readers could advise me of the best treatment for a katipo bite. Such information would be well worth knowing, and, I can assure you, very much appreciated.—Yours, etc., ANTI-KATTPO. November 29, 1933.
