McClea was accepted with great regret and appreciation was expressed o many years of faithful service on the j St if' was announced that the Christchurch City Council had l«ndly erected a notice board directing mothers to the room used by the Plunket nurse in Lincoln road. For Karitane Baby Hospital, the matron reported 11 babies admitted, 1?* discharged, and 14 in hospital. Lincoln road: Adults 87, babies 87. Linwood: Adults 165, babies 165. Total: Suburban, adults 1274, babies 1248; central, ■ adults 1064, babies 741. , In the pre-natal section, the nurse ; saw 18 new cases. 143 return visits, ; and six casual visits had been paid, and 119 cases were under observation. 1 In the pre-school section, Nurse Borrows saw 25 new cases, and 134 children had been seen at the central . rooms. Children under supervision totalled 1421. Nurse Aitken reported 15 new cases in the New Brighton and Sumner-Redcliffs districts. Visits paid to the rooms were as follows: New Brighton, 149 adults, 135 babies, and four older children; Sumner, 39 adults, 33 babies, and three older children; Redcliffs, 16 adults, 15 babies, and three older children. For the country districts, Nurse Home reported 'as follows:—Belfast, adults 26, baoies 26, six pre-school children, nine home visits, and one new case. Marshland, adults 11, eight babies, two pre-school children, and one new case. Tai Tapu: Twelve home visits and one new case. Lincoln: Five adults, five babies, and two home visits. Leeston: Adults 3.9, babies 37, pre-school children 10, two home visits, and five new cases. Southbridge: Adults 12. nine babies, two pre-school , children, and four home visits. Dunsandel: Eight adults, seven babies, two pre-school children, three home visits, and two new cases. Kaiapoi: Adults 36, babies 36, four pre-school children, and nine home visits. Templeton: Adults 14, babies 14, five preschool children, four home visits, and one new case. Extra visits had been paid to Upper Riccarton, Russley road Islington, Hornby, Prebbleton, Ladbrooks, Ellesm.ere, Burnham, and Killipchy.

Several girl guide classes had been concluded, and the usual tests had been given by the nurses. It was reported that Nurses Osborr> mid Borrows had been on sick leave during the month, and Nurse Ellin) had been granted one month's sick leave The relieving work had been carried out by Nurses M. Gibbs, Pritchctt, E. Simpson, and Fairwcathcr The matron of Karitanc Hospital gave an interesting talk to the comon some misconcepTions of the society s v/ork.

OBITUARY MISS H. MACGREGOR i.I'RKSS ASSOCIATION lILIXR KU .) WELLINGTON, November 21. The death occurred to-day of Miss Helen MacGregor, who was for 30 years connected with the Church of Scotland Mission in Madras, India. She was the first New Zealand missionary to enter that field. Miss MacGregor was the daughter of the Rev. James MacGregor. Colombo Church, Oamaru, and a sister of Mr Justice MacGregor. She had lived in retirement at Seatoun for the last five years.
