Mrs P. J. R. Fordham (Montreal street north) returned to Wellington on Monday night. Miss Doris Budge (Russley road, Riccarton) is spending a holiday with Mrs D. Nyhan, Petone. Miss Jean Pickering arrived from Sydney last week and intends living in Christchurch. Mr and Mrs A. Keith Hadfield have gone to reside at their seaside house at New Brighton. Mr and Mrs Henri Piat, of Paris, have taken Mr and Mrs A. Keith Hadfield's residence, "Te Wharekoa," Banks avenue, during their lengthy stay in Christchurch. The annual meeting of the Parents' National Educational Union will be held in the Canterbury "Women's Club on Friday, December 1 when a programme of dramatic and musical items will be presented. This year, by the kindness of Mr Justice Adams, the annual Fendalton parish fete will be held in the beautiful grounds surrounding the river at 29 "Wairarapa ten ace. There will be boating on the river, golf putting on the lawn, demonstrations by the girl guides, conjuring by Mystico " pony rides, and various amusements for young and old. A fancy dress competition for school children will be judged at 3 p.m., and the Woolston Band will lead the grand march. A small charge \\iU be made for adults, but children will be admitted to the grounds free of charge.
