I Notice of his intention to introduce the Waimakariri River Improvement Bill 0933) was given, in the House of Representatives to-day by Mr Henry j Holland (C, Christchurch North'. 1 IThe terms of the bill lix the next general election of the members of the trust for the second Wednesday in May, 1935, and for the same day in every third year thereafter. Exemption of lands held by the trust from rates unless they are let for more than six months is also provided, and also exemption from rating of a portion of the Cust subdivision. The bill will vest in the trust certain riverbed lands, and will provide ior the procedure of compensation claims, fix a time limit on them, and allow the trust to abandon certain land.J
