THE NEW DUNEDIN POST OFFICE
Recently there had been criticism of the building of a new post office at Dunedin, but what was wrong with that, asked Mr F. W. Furby, at a farewell gathering tendered him by the officers of the Post and Telegraph Department at Palmerston North and surrounding districts. Mr Furby, who is Chief Postmaster at Palmerston North, is under transfer to a similar position at Christchurch. The department, he said, had a system of building up reserve funds, and was it not true that a large portion of the cost of the new post office at Dunedin would be provided out of those funds? In the new post office all (he Government departments in Dunedin, now scattered about the city, would be housed, and that, would provide greater convenience for the public.
