SJ'RIXf; ,H"I)GIN(; IN COMI'KTmON The work ot the Papanui Beautifying Association was commended yesterday by Mr J. Hunim, who eonducted the spring judging in the association's garden competition. Mr Hiimm, who went on his tour of the gardens with Messrs E. Egglestonc and J. Sturrock. urged the association to oppose the ruthless lopping of trees. The leading gardens were placed in the following order: Mr F. Morgan, C 3 St. Andrew's terrace, 31 points. Mrs J. Foster. St. James's avenue, 2C points. Mr H. Orchard, Rayburn avenue, 24 points. Mr Hamilton. Watford street, 23 points. Mr G. Borgfeldt, St. James's avenue. 23 points. Mr R. Coleman, Rayburn avenue, 22 points. Mr J. Dodds, 71. Paparoa street, 21 points. Mrs A. Rodie, Paparoa street, 20 points.
