More than 10,000 taximeter "clocks" are tested in Britain every year by the National Physical Laboratory expert; many of these meters have been in use for 30 years. Motor-cars are ousting rickshaws in Tokyo. Twenty-five years ago there were 30,000 of the latter vehicles and 16 cars. Now the modern form of transport totals more than 25,000, while there are only 2000 rickshaws.
