PLUMPTON HANDICAP WON BY PRINCE VAL GAY .SHEILA'S VICTORY IN GUINEAS (ri:KS,S ASSOCIATION TZLKGBAM.) AUCKLAND, October 16. The Avondale Jockey Club's meeting concluded at A\ f ondale to-day. The weather was showery in the morning, but cleared in the afternoon. . The track was in good order. The attendance was fair. The totalisator handled £17,591, against £18,579 last year. The total for the meeting was £39,994, compared with £45,875 last year. There were double-figure dividends in the Mount Albert and New Lynn Handicaps. L. Manson, trainer o£ Tavern Knight, appeared before the judicial committee for allegedly striking Tavern Knight on the nose after the Avondale Guineas. The committee decided that if there was a recurrence, it would recommend suspension of his license.
