RUSSIAN STRATOSPHERE FLIGHT
HEIGHT OF NEARLY TWELVE MILES REACHED (ONITED PHESS ASSDCUTJOX--Br ELECTBW TELEGRAPH—COPYRIGHT.) (Received October 15, 10.5 p.m.) LONDON, October 14. The British United Press correspondent in Moscow says that the sealed barograph of the stratosphere balloon, which made a record flight on September 30, shows that it reached a height of 63,327 feet, nearly 12 miles. [The previous record, held by Professor A. Piccard, was 10 miles 117 yards.]
