Taylor after her illness, and Mrs Taylor gave a talk on the question of the nationality of women who married foreigners and their status as aliens ui New Zealand and Great Britain. Young that he has prepared a bill for presentation to Parliament giving to New Zealand women, who are British subjects, the right to retain their British nationality." On the recommendation of Mrs Taylor, a resolution was also passed ffiat the branch strongly protested against any proposals by the Government to make permanent a four-year parliament. During the afternoon Mrs W. Machin asked members to attend a meeting in the interests of peace to be held at the Choral Hall on October 9., and to urge young people to attend the "youth rally to be held in the Civic Theatre on Sunday afternoon, October 8, for the same cause. Members were reminded that at the next meeting reports of the recent Timaru district convention will be given by Mrs Trott and Miss Goodchild.
