INTER-STATE POTATO EMBARGO
INJUNCTION SOUGHT IN AUSTRALIA MELBOURNE, October 4. A writ has been issued out of the High Court on behalf of the state of Tasmania against the state of Victoria and John Allan, Minister for Agriculture, in respect of the ban on the importation of potatoes into Victoria from Tasmania. The plaintiff seeks an injunction to restrain defendants from enforcing the proclamation prohibiting Victorian merchants from importing Tasmapian potatoes.
