QUEEN CARNIVAL CONCERT

I PERFORMANCE IN JELLICOE HALL When a collection of artists such as Miss Belle Renaut, Miss Joyce Wilkinson, and Messrs J. L. Tennent, R. Malcolm, and W. S. Elsom are joined to give an evening's entertainment, the house can be assured of an enjoyable evening, and the performers at the Jellicoe Hall last evening in no wise detracted from their reputations. The audience demanded encores from every performer and these were willingly given. Perhaps the most popular items of the evening were the humorous recitations of Mr Robert Malcolm, who brought laughs every minute he was on the stage. The songs by both Miss Renaut and Miss Wilkinson were liberally encored, and Mr Tennent was at his best with an encore, "Muleteer of Malaga." The concert was in aid of the ladies' auxiliary queen, Mrs V. C. Peters, in the Young Men's Christian Association Queen Carnival. The programme included:— Instrumental trio, intermezzo from "L'Arlissiene Suite" (Bizet), Miss N. Hume and Messrs E. J. Hume and W. S. Elsom; song, "One Fine Day" (Puccini), Miss J. Wilkinson; selected recitation, Mr R. Malcolm; character duo, "School Days," Miss June and Master Shepherd; song with instrumental trio accompaniment, "On Wings of Song" (Mendelssohn) and "All Through the Night," Miss B. Renaut; violin solo, "Spanish Dance" (Barasate), Mr W. S. Elsom; song, "The Glory of the Sea" and "Muleteer of Malaga," Mr J. L. Tennent; operatic dance, Miss Audrey McNish; duet, "Love's Beginning," Miss Wilkinson and Mr Tennent; instrumental trio. "Three Fours" (Coleridge Taylor), Miss Hume, Messrs Hume and Elsom; song, "The Pipes of Pan" and "Two Roses." McNish; song, "A Song Remembered" (Coates), Miss Renaut; violin solo, "The Swan" (SaintSaens), Mr Elsom; recitation, '"Erbert," Mr Malcolm; duet, "Madame Will You Walk?"
