WIVES OF COUNCIL EMPLOYEES
Notice of the following motion has been given by Cr. A. E. Armstrong for the meeting of the Christchurch ' City Council next Monday evening:— "In pursuance of my policy that the council's wages and salary costs should be made to provide a living for a greater number ,of families, I respectfully ask this council to pass a resolution to the effect that no council position be held by the wife of any of our employees so long as the present unemployment position exists among both sexes."
