DIOCESAN CHORAL FESTIVAL
THE FORTY-NINTH GATHERING To-day, at 4.30 p.m. and 7.30 p.m., .under the conductorship of Mr Arthur Lilly, organist and choirmaster of Holy Trinity, Avonside, the forty-ninth annual choral festival will be held in the Christchurch Cathedral. The preacher at the evening service will be the Rev. iW. S. Southward, vicar of St. Chad's, The organist will be Mr L. C. M. Saunders, of St. Barnabas'. Fendalton, and there Is expected to be a full complement of SCO voices, made up from 20 choirs, taking part in the proceedings. AI a practice held on Monday the majority of the choir members attended, and another rehearsal was held last night, when the places were allotted to the choristers.
