EARTHQUAKE IN CALIFORNIA
_4j> ONE DEATH IN LOS ANGELES LOS ANGELES, October 2. A short, sharp earthquake rocked Southern California early to-day. There was ono death, four persons were injured, and there was light damage to property. All Los Angeles public schools were ordered to be closed until they can be examined. Thousands rushed into the streets in their night attire. Only one building collapsed.
