MAT APS MOVEMENTS The Matai was expected to arrive at Westport yesterday morning from West Coast sounds and bays. She is due in Wellington about noon to-morrow. j THE FERRY SERVICE RANGATIRA FOR OVERHAUL On her arrival at Wellington on Sunday, the turbine-electric steamer Rangatira will retire from the fen-y service for annual overhaul. She will resume again on October 20. The ! Wahine is to take up the Rangatira's j running, leaving Wellington on Monday night for Lyttelton, and arriving here on Tuesday morning. When the Rangatira resumes, the Wahine will replace the Maori for the summer months, leaving Wellington on October 21 for Lyttelton. MANY NAMES ANOTHER VESSEL BOUGHT FOR THE EAST ' i Moller and Company, of Shanghai, who have purchased several of the Union Steam Ship Company's cargo vessels at different periods, and also well-known Australian steamers, have recently bought the steel steamer Chislehurst, 3850 tons register, and renamed her Yolande B. Although the vessel was only built in Sunderland in 1912, her present name is the eighth name that has been given to her. The following are the previous names: FenwelJ, Debreczen, Mount Seward, Kerosan, Erodiade, and Electra. TO LOAD GRAIN SAILING SHIPS LEAVE FOR AUSTRALIA Advices have been received in Sydney indicating the departure of the first sailing vessels for Australia to load cargoes of grain at South Australian ports. A message received last week stated that the Swedish four-masted barque Abraham Rydberg had left Madeira for South Australia, and a further report stated that the Finnish fourmasted barque l'Avenir and the Finnish barque Killoran had left Copenhagen for uie same destination. Each of these vessels participated in the grain race last season. j WORK RESUMED WATERFRONT DISPUTE Work was resumed at Lyttelton yesterday on the coastal vessels Gale and Awahou, which had been held up since the previous day owing to a dispute between the waterside workers and the Railway Department, over the allotting of a permanent railwayman to do the work of "cards." The Local Disputes Committee sat during the morning and until 3 o'clock in the afternoon. No agreement was arrived at, and the dispute was referred to the National Disputes Committee at Wellington. Mr W. G. Bennett, secretary of the Employers' Association at Wellington, attended the meeting. The Gale and the Awahou sailed during the afternoon.
