-—■ 0 j BOY'S DEATH IN HOSPITAL A verdict that Colin flenry Innes, aged 11, died in the Christchurch Public Hospital on September 10 from injuries and shock received when he accidentally fell from a tree in the old Richmond school grounds in Stanmore road, was returned by Mr E. D. Mosley, coroner, when the inquest was concluded yesterday morning. Owen Alfred Innes, a schoolboy, aged 12, said that on September 0, with his brother and some other boys, he v/as flying kites on the old Richmond school ground. One of the kites became caught in a tree and his brother climbed to free it. He heard a branch break and his brother fell to the ground. When he examined him he was bleeding from the lip and forehead. Dr. Mary Russell, a house surgeon at the Christchurch Public Hospital, said the boy was admitted to the hospital about 11.30 on the morning of, September 9. He was suffering from shock and was in a low condition. Internal injuries were suspected, but his condition did not allow of a detailed examination being made. He died the next day. The police were represented at the inquest by Sergeant A. Leckie.
