CORSAIR MOTOR CLUB
An important sporting run will be held by the Corsair Motor Club on September 17, when the first of the motor sports for this season's trophies will be held. The main feature of the programme is the motor polo match, for all club riders, to select the A and B teams for the season.
The points for the season's competitions are to be allotted 6-4-2 for the first three places. A cup will be presented in July for the highest aggregate. Last season's cup winner, B. Williams, has bought a car. His riding had gained him a lead on points for the Pirate cup. The sports committee has arranged a full programme of events for the run, and it will start from the Railway yard at 9.30 a.m. As B. Williams has left vacant the positions of vice-captain and club recorder, a meeting was held at the club hall, when B. Horneman was elected vice-captain and M. B. McClurg recorder. A vacancy on the sports committee was filled by E. Tomlinson.
On October 22, the Corsair Social Club will run an excursion by rail to Waitaki, when a visit will be paid to the Waitaki hydro electric works.
