CANTERBURY CALEDONIAN SOCIETY
There was a large attendance at the usual fortnightly social oi the Canterbury Caledonian Society, held at the Caledonian Hall. The president, Mr C. S. Thomas, presided, and with him on the platform were Messrs G. Sey and W. Edginton (vice-presidents), and Mr A. Macquarrie (director). An excellent programme, arranged by Messrs B. Moore and W. Edginton, was contributed by the following:— Opening selection, the society's Pipe Band; song, Mr W. Toomey; piccolo solo, Mr T. Amos; Highland fling, Miss Mary Payton; song, Mrs Pearce; recitation, Mr R. A. Malcolm; song, Miss Anita Graham; swords, Miss D. Fowler; Mr Les Stewart and wee Geordie, entertainers; song, Miss E. Jackson; piping selection, Piper F. Burrows; magical act, Mr B. Wilson; seann triubhais, Miss Gracie and Master Donald Cameron; song, Miss A. Fraser; song, Mr Les. Stewart; Highland reel, Misses Mary Payton, D. Fowler, and Gracie Cameron, and Master Donald Cameron. The society's official accompanist, Mr G. C. Russell, was at the piano. After the concert dancing was enjoyed to the music of Jackson's orchestra. ✓
