o -MR H. A. LAMB APPOINTED J SECRETARY j [THE PEESS Special Service.] WELLINGTON, September 8. Mr Henry Allander Lamb, senior supervisor of the accountants' branch of the General Post Office, Wellington, has been appointed Grand Secretary of the Grand Lodge of Freemasons of New Zealand, in succession to Colonel George Barclay, who recently resigned the office, which he had held since 1920. Mr Lamb was educated at Wellington College, and joined the accountants' branch of the General Post Office as a cadet in 1902. He has spent 32 years in the department, gaining steady promotion to his present position. He has tendered his resignation from the department, and will leave to take up his residence and his new duties in Auckland about the middle of October. Mr Lamb has for 12 years been a member of the Public Service Superannuation Board, representing Post and Telegraph Department contributors. He is a son of the late Mr Henry Alexander Lamb, who was deputy-controller and auditor-gen-eral, and who was highly esteemed through the Dominion. Mr Lamb joined Lodge Waterloo No. 13 more than 17 years ago. He became Worshipful Master in 1926, and was installed as first principal of the Waterloo Royal Arch Chapter in 1930. He also holds office in the Wellington Rose Croix Chapter, and is a member of the Charles Fergusson Preceptory of Knights Templars. He has just completed his third year as treasurer of the Waterloo Lodge.
