THE PRIME MINISTER
ARRIVAL AT WELLINGTON ON SEPTEMBER 17 (mass ASSOCIATION TELEGRAM.) WELLINGTON, September 8. It is now expected that the Prime Minister, the Rt. Hon. G. W. Forbes, and the Hon. R. Masters, together with the other members of New Zealand's delegation to the World Economic Conference, will arrive in Wellington on Sunday, September 17. The party is on board the Makura, which was originally due at Wellington on Monday, September 18; but it is understood that arrangements have now been made to enable the Makura to reach Wellington one day earlier. Itinerant flower sellers—welcome to people who live in flats and who have no gardens—have increased in numbers lately. Last year rarely more than one of these vendors used to call regularly at a large block of city flats, but in the last fortnight no fewer than four of them have made the rounds. Their visits were well spaced out, and all of them said they were doing good trade. Of the flowers being sold—mostly daffodils, jonquils, and ranunculi—a large part came from the North Island. -
