"I think it is a scandalous thing and we ought to protest to the Railway Department," said the chairman (Mr E. A. Batt) at the executive meeting of the Wellington Automobile Club, referring to the advertising sign recently painted on the railway overhead bridge at Ngahauranga. The sign itself was not offensive, but there was a principle involved, he said. After a general discussion on the undesirability of roadside advertisements, the meeting decided to write to the Rail- j way Department protesting against the sign on the bridge.
