WEST CHRISTCHURCH CLUB ANNUAL REPORT An increased membership during last season is one of the things noted in the annual report of the West Christchurch Cricket Club, to be presented at the annual meeting on Wednesday next. This enabled the club to enter six teams in the Cricket Association's competitions instead of five in the previous year. Commenting on the finances of the club, the report states that the club practically held its own during the season, the balance-sheet showing that receipts were £142 19s 6d, or £24 5s 9d more than they were in the previous season. Representative honours, both for Canterbury and for New Zealand, had been gained by J. L. Kerr, and J. Patrick represented Canterbury in the Brabin Shield match against Wellington. In competiiton matches the senior eleven had gained sixth place, the juniors eighth place, third grade A second place, third grade B third place, fourth grade fifth place, and sixth grade sixth place. The club gained fourth place in the Petersen Shield competition. There had been a considerable improvement in attendances at practices. The report concluded with thanks to those who had assisted it in the conduct of its affairs.
