Auckland—There was a continuation of a moderate south-west wind and unsettled conditions yesterday, an occasional light shower being experienced. The barometer rose to 30.05 in. Wellington—A perfect spring day was enjoyed by Wellington yesterday, the sun shining from a cloudless sky. There was a light northerly breeze. Dunedin —Fine sunny weather was experienced in Dunedin yesterday, following a cold night and five degrees ot frost. A light north-east wind was blowing, and conditions were very cold in the shade all day. Tho barometer fell several points and registered 29.80 last evening. FORECAST. (From readings taken at 4 p.m.) General Situation—A slight anticyclone is passing New Zealand to the northward. A deep depression is advancing from the west across the Tasman Sea. Winds—South-westerly at first from
Auckland northwards; otherwise northwesterlies prevailing, moderate at first but freshening later, reaching gale force in places. Seas (New Zealand waters) —Rough on the West Coast; smooth to moderate 011 the east. Smooth at first in Cook Strait, but later rising. Eastern Tasman Sea —Moderate to strong north-west to northerly winds, rising to gale force in the southern portion. Seas rough. Weather- —Fair to fine at first, but becoming unsettled gradually in the districts with a westerly aspect, and rain developing. A cool night. Milder to-morrow. DOMINION REPORTS. Station. Wind.
