SCARCITY OF FISH.
A heavy ground swell which has 1 prevailed along the coast during the last week has caused an acute short- ' age of fish, and vendors in the city have been seriously inconvenienced. Groper, flounders, and soles liave been particularly scarce, and dealers have had to rely a great deal on terakihi te eke out their supplies. There is no prospect nt present of conditions at rea improving.
