ODDFELLOWS.
NORTH CANTERBURY DISTRICT. The usual fortnightly meeting of the committee of management of the Manchester Unity, Independent Order of Oddfellows, was held on Thursday evening. There was a full attendance of members, the Grand Master, Bro. S. J. Geary, presiding. The transport committee reported that arrangements had been made for the official visit to the Loyal Papanui Lodge (Belfast branch) on August 10. A request was received from the Loyal Progress Lodge to change the meeting room for the official visit on August 21 to the Oddfellows* HalL- Canon street. St. Albans. This was agreed to, and the necessary consent was given. The Grand Master reported on the tecent official visits, and also on the viFit to the Loyal Past Grands* Ledge, No. 1, when the district officers conferred the Purple Degree. There was considerable discussion on the district fund for the relief of members" contributions, and the matter was held over for a future meeting.
