PUBLIC NOTICES. PUBLIC SERVICE EXAMINATIONS FOR SHORTHAND-WRITERS AND TYPISTS, NOVEMBER-DE-CEMBER, 1933. [. TT IS HEREBY NOTIFIED that the usual Junior and Senior Public Service Entrance Examinations for Shorthand-typists will be held on the 18th November. In addition it is proposed to hold the following examinations in the four main centres on the 2nd December: — Intermediate Examination: Shorthand 130 words a minute; typewriting 50 words a minute. Special Examination: Shorthand 150 words a minute; typewriting 50 words a minute. s If sufficient candidates offer an ex- . amination for the purposes of the Shorthand Reporters' Act, 1908, will also be conducted in conjunction with . the Intermediate and Special Examinations. This examination requires a K speed of from 150 to 180 words a minute in shorthand, with not more than one per cent, of error in transcript, . The fee for this examination is £2 2s, and applications must also be accompanied by evidence that applicant has 5 attained the age of 21 years, and at least two testimonials as to character. Applications close 19th October, 1933, but late applications will be received up to 2nd November, if accompanied by a late fee of 2s 6d in addition to the usual entrance fee of 5s for the Junior and 10s for the Senior Examination; and a late fee of 5s in addition to the usual entrance fee of 15s for the Intermediate and £1 for the Special Examination.
