Wind:- -Easterly to northerly, strong in the far north, elsewhere light to moderate, gradually freshening. Sens (New Zealand Avaters) Smooth to moderate, rising north of Kawhia and East Cape. Eastern Tasman Sea—Strong northeasterlies to gales in northern portion, rough to heavy seas, freshening easterlies with rather rough seas in the southern portion. Weather—Fine at first in most districts, soon becoming dull and mislv in North Auckland, with rain developing with unsettled conditions extending gradually southwards. Other Centres. Auckland—A moderate freshening north-east wind and cloudy weather prevailed yesterday, conditions being cold and bleak. There was verv little movement in the barometer, which registered 30.45 last evening. Wellington—A day of perfect .sunshine prevailed 'n Wellington yesterday. The temperature was miidwith a light southerly breeze. Dunedin—A fresh north-east wind and fine sunny weather prevailed in Dunedin yesterday. Conditions were very cold in the shade, the maximum temperature being 44 degrees. The barometer fell several points, and registered 30.30 in last evening. FORECAST. (From readings taken at 4 p.m.) General Situation—An intense anticyclone envelopes the Dominion, but is moving slowly eastwards. A cyclone is located over the central portion of the north Tasman, and an intense one is advancing on to south-eastern Australia.
