I HANK OSWALD V. COUNT VARGA ON WEDNESDAY. At St. James' Theatre on Wednesday evening next. Hank Oswald, of California, will meet Count Varga, of Hungary, in the next professional wrestling match of the season. Oswald is a recent arrival in the Dominion, and has already created a very favourable impression with patrons of the sport. Qnly a young man, his style of wrestling is very similar to that of Dean Detton and Al Pereira. He is always on the attack, and his flying ♦ackles are a spectacular feature of his bouts. Varga has had years of experience, but will require to be at his best to gain the verdict over his worthy opponent. The professional match of eight ten~ minute rounds will be preceded by the following heats of the Canterbury amateur championships:— Heavy-weight—D. Lloyd v. C. Martin; D. G. Simpson v. A. K. Asher. Welter-weight—J. H. Savage v. E. Borton. Light-weight—T. Borland v. K. Fooid. Mamos secured a fall in the fifth round with a figure four arm bar and a head scissors. Robin equalised in the seventh round with a headlock and body press. It was a strenuous but unexciting bout.
