+ INJURED WITH NEEDLE. association tilkokau.) AUCKLAND, July 2S. An accident resulting in a needle piercing the back of a girl, Eva Thackwell, aged 12, occurred at the child's home. The needle, which had been left threaded, was sticking irt the wallpaper, and entered the child's back near the spine when she leaned against the wall. The point of the needle penetrated the child's clothing before she could lean forward. The whole needle disappeared into her flesh, only the cotton with which it was threaded remaining to show where it entered. She was taken to hospital, and the needle removed after the exact position had been located in an X-ray photograph. The girl returned home later.
