PROGRESS WITH M'CORMACK'S BAY CAUSEWAY. The latest report regarding the progress being made with the construction of the McCormack's Bay causeway is to the effect that of the total length of 55 J chains there have been completed 18} chains, of which 6j chains are at the Mount Pleasant end. The stage in the work has been reached when a start is being made with the blasting of rock on the main road at Redcliffs in front of the cave, and opposite the pumping station. The road at this point is to be widened. This Is a necessary work, as the road at this point is considered dangerous to traffic. The daily average number of men employed on the causeway is 170, and it is estimated that it will be several months before the work on the causeway is finished.
