When Jovan Milutinovitich, who lives near Tzaribrod, Serbia, decided to retire from farming, he sold his land for a good price, hid the money in the straw mattress of his bed, and said nothing to anyone. Next morning his wife decided to change the straw in his mattress. She tipped out the old straw (and the money) in a cowshed. When Jovan returned, his wife told him that she had changed the straw. He rushed off to the cow-shed to look for his money. Too late. It had qjl been eaten.
