Auckland—Yesterday was a fine clear day, the sun shining from a cloudless sky. A light southerly breeze made conditions cold in the shade. The barometer remained steady well above normal. Wellington—Yesterday was fine and sunny, with a complete absence of wind. Dunedin—There was a continuation of fine weather yesterday, the sun shining from a clear sky. A light northeast wind was blowing. The barometer, which rose to 30.70 on Wednesday night, recorded 30.45 last evening. FORECAST. (From readings taken at 4 p.m.) General Situation—An intense anticyclone still covers New Zealand, its centre being along the East Coast. A cyclone is located east of New South
Wales, while a westerly depression extends along the South Australian coast on to Tasmania. Winds—Variable and light, but north-easterly or northerly soon setting in and freshening. Seas (New Zealand waters) —Smooth to moderate, later rising on the West Coast. Eastern Tasman Sea —Increasing north-east winds and rising seas. Weather—Fair to fine generally, but foggy in places, becoming unsettled to-morrow in western districts and the far north and south, with rain developing; temperatures milder. DOMINION REPORTS.
