THE UNEMPLOYED PROBLEM.

TO Tn?. ZmlOK OF THK PRESS. ! Sir, —In his reply to Mr Bray's letit cr Mr Di Somma avoids the points j raised. His letter was an attack on the suggestion from the Auckland | Hospital Board that the Government ! should use the public credit to solve the unemployment problem, and his alternative was the dole system. Mr Bray pointed out that the dole system is three parts financed by the public credit, the only difference between the method in use and that suggested by the Auckland Hospital Board being that at present the public credit is borrowed from the banks. It appears to me that this point and the others regarding coinage being credit are unanswerable, hence Mr Di Somma's evasive reply. If Mr Bray is wrong I should like to see him put right without such silly references as a "Douglas incubus," which is an enigma to me.—Yours, etc., F. YAXLEY WILSON. July 27, 1933.
