She is to sail tomorrow for Port Chalmers. The Ashburton is to arrive at Lyttelton early this morning from Wellington. She will discharge a small quantity of New York cargo, and is to sail this afternoon for Dunedin. The Calm should arrive here late this morning from Wellington, and is to sail this afternoon for Bluff, Dunedin. Oamaru. and Timaru. The Gale is now to arrive here this morning from the south, and is to sail this afternoon for Wellington and Wanganui. The Foxton is to load at Lyttelton to-day for Foxton. The Poolta is due here this morning from Timaru. She will load for Napier and Gisborne, and is to sail this afternoon for Wellington. The Holmglen is to arrive here on Saturday from the south to load for Wellington. Wanganui, New Plymouth, and Waikato. The John is due at Lyttelton on Saturday l'rom Timaru. >She will load and sail for Wellington, Wanganui, Westport, and Greymouth. GALE DELAYS SHIPPING. The ferry steamer Maori arrived at Lvttelton three-quarters of an hour behind her usual time yesterday morning, having encountered a strong south-westerly wind on the trip from Wellington. The gale was much stronger off Batiks Peninsula and the sieamer Fife, which left Lyttelton on Tuesday afternoon, put back into the stream shortly before midnight for shelter. She left again at 6.30 yesterday morning. The little motor-ship Holmglen, which left Lyttelton at 1.45 p.m. on Tuesday, sheltered under the Peninsula all night, resuming yesterday morning. NORTHUMBERLAND LEAVES MONTEVIDEO. The Federal Company has received advice that the Northumberland cleared Montevideo last Thursday. She left Auckland on July 1 for London, Avonmouth, Liverpool, and Glasgow, via Cape Horn, Montevideo, and Dakar. O. AND O. LINE SAILINGS. Advice has been received that the Golden Bear is to replace the Golden Harvest, and will leave Los Angeles on September 1 for Auckland, Wellington, and Australia. Turrcll) to-night that the salvage claim for the steamer Golden Harvest, which went, ashore at Wellington heads some time ago, had been settled at £1250, plus legal expenses The average citizen did not realise the amount of money the dock caused to be spent in the port, Mr Turrcll observed. Ho would suy thut the docking of the Golden Harvest in Wellington meant that at least £15,000 had been directly or indirectly spent in the port. THE SURREY. The Surrey arrived at Lyttelton yesterday afternoon from Timaru, and is to sail this afternoon for Wellington to complete loading for London. TANKER IRIM. The Greek tanker Irini is now due I to arrive at Auckland to-day from Constantinople, and is expected to arrive at Wellington on Monday. She is due at Lyttelton about Wednesday, and will proceed from this port to Duncdin to complete discharge. GUANO FROM SEYCHELLES. 1 I The Finnish barque Plus, 1117 tons, 1 has been chartered to load guano at the Seychelles for New Zealand. SAGONA FOR NEW ZEALAND. The Norwegian motor tanker Sagona is reported to have cleared San Francisco last Thursday with a cargo of bulk petrol lor New Zealand and Australian ports. PERSONAL. Captain A. S. Dalgliesh has resumed command of the Poolta, relieving Captain S. Hewitt, who is proceeding to Wellington for further orders. Captain R. L. Davics, of the Ngakuta, has transferred to command of the Ngatoro, vice Captain Donald McDonald, who is transferring to the Kowhai. Captain J. Stewart, of the latter vessel, will be relieving Captain E. J. C. Gibson, of the Kakariki, later in the week. Mr J. N. Collins, fourth officer in the Monowai, has transfered to the Makura in a similar capacity, relieving Mr G. H. Edwards for instructions. Captain W.
