YACHTING.
+ CANTERBURY ASSOCIATION.
The Canterbury Sailing and PowerBoat Association met last evening, Mr G. R. Curtis presiding over a good attendance. The New Zealand Yachting Council forwarded a proposed set of rules for the New Zealand speed-boat championships, which it has been suggested shall be first held at Lyttelton in 1934, in conjunction with the 1934 X class 14-foot championship. The proposed rules set out that the contest should be confined to boats with inboard engines, and should be competed for annually by affiliated associations and clubs, individual members also to have the right of entry. It was decided to forward the proposal to affiliated clubs and that suggestions should be invited. The following committee was ai> pointed to consider designs for the New Zealand Yachting Council's proposed 18 T footer class: Messrs C. Banks, G. G. Andrews, F. Morrison, Magnus Smith, E. Sinclair, G. Curtis, and M. H. Fougere. Consideration of specifications for the design of 14-footer X class boats was left to the same committee.
