ACCIDENTS.

FOOTBALLER HURT. David Williams, aged 15, of 534 Hagley avenue, injured his right knee on Saturday afternoon while playing football at Hagley Park. He was admitted to the Chrlstchurch Hospital. BOY'S CONDITION IMPROVES. The seven-year-old boy, William Walker, of Port Hills road, who fell over a cliff into a quarry on Friday, and who was admitted to the Christchurch Hospital in a critical condition, improved so satisfactorily during the week-end that he was removed from the seriously ill list yesterday, when he showed further improvement. The bank over which he fell while playing waa about 50 feet high, and he suffered a broken thigh and arm and severe internal injuries.

FALL FROM WIRELESS MAST. Head injuries were suffered by C. Peagram, of 77 Princes street, Woolston, yesterday, when a wireless mast on which he was working at his home collapsed and fell to the ground. He was admitted to the Christcnurch Hospital, but his condition is not serious.

FINGER SEVERED. (PKE3S 1330CI1TIOK TIXESIUK ) DUNEDIN, July 15. Mr Charles Allen, son of Sir James Allen, had the end of the middle finger of his right hand severed and several fin"—- injured as a result of an accident. Mr Allen, who is blind and was accompanied by a be-, stepped off the footpath to cross the street, but the boy apparently saw a motor-lorry approaching at a slow pace, and pulled Mr Allen back. The latter evidently caught his heel on the kerbing and put out his right hand in order to save himself fror: falling. As he grabbed a post the motor-lorry struck it, with a result that Mr Allen's middle finger was severed at the first joint. Mr Allen is a well-known contributor to the newspapers, and used the fingers which were injured for typing.
