THE CIVIC. " THE LOVE CONTRACT.'^ Box plans are now open at the Civic Theatre for "The Love Contract," the sparkling, vivacious screen adaptation of the popular French mu:;ical comedy, "Chauffeur Antoinette." This merry mix-up of a lady chauffeur and a peculiar contract elevates to stardom the demure little lady of the Tom Walls-Ralph Lynn comedies—Winifred Shotter. In her new film she appears with a new and glittering personality. Her whimsical charm, saucy dimples, and daintiness place her high in the estimation cf pieturegoers. In her saucy chauffeur's uniform, Winifred Shotter is fascinating. "The Love Contract" is a charming, whimsical, and delightful romance concerning a' wealthy girl who loses her money, and is subsequently employed as chauffeur , ,by the man w)io purchases her home. Assisting Mi;-s Shotter are Owen Nares, in a debonnair role, similar to that of the bank manager in "Sunshine Susie," and that sterling comedian, Gus McNaughton, who provides unrestrained laughter as the cnauffeur, "who knows more about horses than cars." To avoid disappointment, the management advises intending patrons to book SGcits GErly. "The Flag Lieutenant," one of the finest British productions of its class to be screened in Christchurch, is now nearing the close of its. extended season. It will be screened for the last time this evening. The supporting programme is equally meritorious.
