STAFF DANCE.

INTERNA TIC) NA L HAFtVKS TE R COMPANY. Very cheery and bright was the annual staff dance of the International Harvester Cprr.pa.ny of New Zealand, Ltd., held last night at the Winter Garden. With the thoroughness and attention to detail that characterises the firm in all its undertakings, the committee had made complete arrangements for the entertainment of the guests. Music was supplied by the Bailey-Marston Orchestra, and the supper extras were played by S. Shackel and his orchestra. An exhibition dance was given by Mr and Mrs Leo Bowden and Miss Gladys Fitzsimmons, and amusing novelties and gaily-coloured balloons were distributed amongst the dancers. The guest of honour was Mr R. W. Morgan, general manager of the company, and the hostesses were Mrs M. Sweetland and Miss M. V. Sweetland. Mrs Sweetland wore a frock of black georgette witn inset vestee of ivory lace and a black velvet coatee with skunk collar; Mjss Sweetland wore a navy georgette frock, the V-shaped neckline being outlined with ivory | scalloped georgette; her coatee was of black faconne with white fur collar. The members of the dance committee were Misses Muriel Cox, Rena Cox, Olive Robson, Doris Toon, Laura Ellis, Gertrude Smith; Messrs Leo Neale 'honorary secretary), Trevor Hawkey, Cedric Treeby, Lionel Penny, and Cyril Robinson. Miss Rena Cox wore a soft resida green georgette frock made vith picot-edged cape sleeve", and inset godets on the skirt trimmed with tiny frills; Miss Muriel Cox wore a frock of pale pink organdi, mounted on pink silk and finished with a large bow at the waist and a spray of pink flowers on the shoulder; Miss Robson's frock of magnolia satin had the bodice slightly gathered into a diamond shaped panel in front and continued into a swathed sash with bow at the back, her coatee being of rose-pink velvet; Miss Toon wore a briar rose pink georgette frock, trimmed with narrow gathered bands of pink faille: Miss Ellis wore a cameo pink angel-skin lace frock, inset with panels of finelytucked pink georgette, trimmed with narrow frills; Miss Smith wore a black tafleta frock with yoke and scarfcollar tied *at the back of white taffeta.

HAPPINESS CLUB. The Happiness Club held a successful dance in St. Michael's Hall. Spotlight dances added to the enjoyment of the evening. Music was supplied by Mr Bert Lamport, and extras were played by Miss D. Ede and Mr T. Robson. Monte Carlo dances were won by Miss J. Johnson and Mr Hughes, and Miss Hillier and Mr E. Farmer. Messrs K. Owen and R. Casbolt were masters of ceremonies. Among those present were Mr and Mrs J.
