THE TASMAN CHALET.

TO Tnr, EDITOR OP THE TRESS. Sir, —I agree with "Mountaineer" in all things but one. As a young and country-proud New Zealander, I object to a chalet taking root in our mountains; but as the Ball Hut has ceased to be its humble self and has attained a greater dignity, why not call it the Ball Whare, or a possibly more appropriate Maori name? I take this opportunity to thank the Tourist Department for its promise to investigate the question of the Ball Hut's renaming, and I trust it will be successful in eliminating the chalet part of it.—Yours, etc., AORANGI. July 13, 1933.
