Commencing on July 20, a special excursion has been arranged to the Mount Cook region to enable visitors to attend the Hermitage winter championship ski sports meeting. The programme includes crosscountry, slalom, relay, downhill, novelty, and novice races, and also a ski jump contest. The Hermitage Open Championship Cup and the women's championship cup will be competed for. Recent falls of snow on the Ball glacier promise that snow conditions will be good for the meeting.
Acknowledgments of the receipt of newspaper clippings, proofs of the prize peace posters and other publicity matter relating to the Hamilton Peace Plan have been received from the Prime Minister of Great Britain (the Rt. Hon. Ramsay MacDonald), the Rt. Hon. Stanley Baldwin, and Major-General Sir lan Hamilton, by the sponsor of the campaign, Mr F. Hervey Hamilton, of Christchurch. Proposals for "selling" peace by means of publicity will be placed before the British Advertising Convention in London next week by Mr Will Appleton, of Wellington, who is sponsoring the scheme abroad on behalf of the Canterbury Advertising Club.
