MUNICIPAL LINKS. MEETING OF ADVISORY BOARD. A meeting of the Municipal Links Advisory Board was held in the City Council Chambers on Tuesday. Mr E. A. M. Leaver presided, and there were present: Messrs M. J. Barnett, H. Throp. R. E. Holloway, A. E. Lawry, and C. T. Middleton (secretary and treasurer). In reply to a letter from Mrs Cormack. drawing attention to the inadequate size of the kitchen adjoining the tea room, it was decided that the members of the board inspect the premises and report to the next meeting. Notification was received from Ihe New Brighton Borough Council of its intention to construct a footpath on the eastern side of Shaw avenue and 1 of the necessity of moving one of the tees to a different position. It intimated that it was prepared to carry out the work. The custodian (Mr P. C. Cormack) reported that three new greens had been sown down and were making satisfactory progress. A new green at No. 2 was being laid with turf, and should be in first-class order for play in about four months. Turiing was in progress on all the fairways and approaches and several new grass tees had been made and would come into use shortly. The cutting plant had Deen something of a nightmare for some time, and there was not a mower in anything like condition for use on green and fairways. A new triplex mower for the fairways and two new hand mowers for use on the greens were urgently needed. The report was received, and Mr Barnett appointed to report as to the implements required. Approval was expressed of Mr Cormack's suggestion that a golf match be played on their days off by the men working on the links. Mr Middleton reported that to June 30, 1933, there were 160 playing members (69 men and 91 women). RICHMOND HILL V. HAGLEY.
