A suggestion was made by a Wanganui resident in speaking of the lack of bedding in some homes. "What is to prevent anyone doing what campers always do—make a good bed of bracken covered with sacking? A bracken bed is most comfortable, and costs nothing to renew. There is absolutely no need for people to be uncomfortable if they choose to bestir themselves, in this locality, at any rate." .
