♦ MINIATURE RIFLE SHOOTING. The Lyttelton Miniature Rifle Club's president's team fired a match against Ward's ladies' team at Lyttelton on Tuesday night. The match resulted in a draw, the score being 527 each. Owing to the B.S.A. Cup competition at Chrislchurch, no further matches will be fired this week. District High School. The Education Board's _ workmen commenced this week to paint the interior of the Lyttelton District High School, and to effect repairs and renovations. A heavy stone gable over the entrance of the infants' school, which was considered dangerous, has been dismantled. As showing the dangerous state of the rable, it was noticed that the workmen were able to take it down, stone by stone, without the use of tools. Search For Missing Boy. A search for the boy David Scoech Wilson, whose clothes were found in a drifting dinghy on Tuesday, was made yesterday, police scouring the shore. At low tide a search was made of the reef, but without result. Two persons who were in the vicinity of Naval Point, which is opposite the reef, on Monday night are stated to have heard cries for assistance, and one of them communicated with the police. Constable Armstrong made a search of the vicinity at midnight, on Monday. It is believed that the boy was by some means marooned on the reef, which is covered at high tide. Golf. The Lyttelton Ladies' Golf Club will play the first round of the championships at Charteris Bay on Sunday. The flag match which was to have been held on Sunday has been postponed. The men's club will also play championship rounds. Mid-week players at Diamond Harbour for the Godley House Cup are as follows:—R. Clow and Miss P. ShayleGeorge v. B. Moore and Mrs Moore, W. Paine and Mrs Paine v. B. H. Gilmour and Mrs E. Hanna. The round is to be completed by July 22. The following will represent Diamond Harbour against Akaroa, at Diamond Harbour, on Sunday:—T. Archer, Mrs G. Cooper. Mrs D. Comer, Miss W. White-Parsons, Mrs W. Paine, Miss N. Pitcaithly, Miss I. Cleary, Mrs L. Blewett. Billiards. A ilying fifty billiards tournament held by the Lyttelton Volunteer Fire Brigade was won by T. Young, who defeated S. Carson in the final.
