SHIPPING NOTES. The Poolta is expected at Lyttelton this morning from Timaru to load for Napier and Gisborne. She is to sail via Wellington. The Wainui discharged Melbourne cargo at Lyttelton yesterday and sailed for Wellington. She is due back at Lyttelton to-morrow to load for Melbourne, and is to sail for Bluff, Hobart, and Melbourne. • The Gale came out of dock at Lyttelton yesterday morning and sailed for Dunedin. She is due back, via Oamaru and Timaru, about Saturday, and is to load for Wellington and Wanganui. The John is expected here on Saturday from the south. She will take in cargo for Wellington, Wanganui, New Plymouth, and Waikato. The Alexander is timed to load here on Saturday for Nelson, Westport, and Greymouth. The Kapiti is due at Lyttelton tomorrow from Wanganui. She will load here for that port. The Waimarino discharged Auckland cargo at Lyttelton yesterday and sailed for Dunedin, Oamaru, and Timaru. She is due back on Wednesday and will sail the same day for Picton, Wellington, and Auckland. The Wingatui is due here on Wednesday from Auckland, Portland, and Wellington, and is to sail the same day for Dunedin and Timaru. The Kini is to arrive here on Saturday from Timaru to load for Nelson, New Plymouth, Westport, and Greymouth. The Orepuki is expected to arrive here on Thursday next from Timaru, and is to sail the same day for Wellington, Napier, Gisborne, and Tauranga. WAIHEMO AT AUCKLAND. The Waihemo, which arrived at Auckland on Sunday, from Los Angeles, brought about 7000 cases of iruit from the Cook Islands. She has 19 head of Texas cattle on board for Queensland. The Rotorua, which left Wellington at daybreak on Friday for London, via Pitcairn Island, Panama, and Caracas Bay, has reported that since leaving Wellington moderate weather has been experienced, and that all on board are well.

H.M.S. DUNEDIN'S MOVEMENTS. j i TO VISIT TIMARU, AKAROA, AND | LYTTELTON. A tentative programme of movements for H.M.S. Dunedin has been drawn up. The Dunedin, which has been undergoing extensive overhaul and refit at the naval base, Devonport, Auckland, is expected to leave that port on September 9 for a cruise in southern waters. She will call at Napier (September 11-18), Wellington 'September 19-23), and Picton (September 23-27), and will then take part in exercises with the Australian fleet on September 27 and 28, She will then visit Milford and Dusky Sounds between September 30 and October 3, and her subsequent movements will be: Glory Cove (October 3-7), Bluff .'October 7-12), Dunedin 'October 1319), Timaru (October 19-25), Akaroa (October 25-30), and Lyttelton (October 30-November 13). The Kanna is due at Walpole Island from Auckland about Monday to commence loading guano for Lyttelton and Timaru. OPAWA LEAVES LIVERPOOL.
