THEFT AT NELSON.
♦ £lO TAKEN FROM SAFE. (PKES3 ASSOCIATION TEL33RAI!.) NELSON, July 8. Last night burglars entered P. Howcroft's grocery premises and blew open the office safe, removing £lO in cash. A number of cheques was untouched. Entrance was gained through the office window after an attempt through the storeroom had failed. The workmanship is considered to be that of experts. A box of cigarettes was opened and only one packet was recovered. One bottle of stout was consumed.
